Our Staff

What a journey we have been on since the Bank opened in Strathmore in July 2001.

The experience of opening the doors of a Bank that had no customers was very daunting.  With the incredible support of the Shareholders and the local community we have, over the past 14 years, built the business to where we are today and so we thought we would provide some insight into each member of our staff.

Malcolm Turvey our Customer Relationship Officer has been with us from the beginning and has become a very well known face of the Branch.  He had previous banking experience with the NAB before joining the Bendigo.  Malcolm has embraced the Community Bank concept and has been a familiar face at many sporting and community functions over the past 11 years.  Malcolm has been the driving force behind the branch’s involvement in the Moonee Valley Relay for Life and for some time was a major part of the organizing committee.  A job well done!!  Mal has travelled extensively and is a sports enthusiast although these days as a spectator and not a participant.  Age has finally caught up with him!!

Hayley Faria joined the branch as our Customer Service Supervisor and comes to us with previous banking experience having completed a number of years with the State/ Commonwealth Bank.  You will no doubt continue to see her smiling face at the branch and her presence representing the bank at events.

Jake Smith is one of our Customer Service Officers having previously spent 5 years in our Card Services Department in Bendigo.  Jake is the branch “guru” when it comes to inquiries regarding our Card Facilities.  Jake was living in the local area after coming from Bendigo and by his own admission knew little of the Strathmore Community Bank.  He has been blown away by the amount of support we have been able to provide to Community projects.

Jake is an avid spectator of music and sport, participant of neither. We will have to get him back on the soccer field?

Edwina Baxter is a country girl, born in Castlemaine and grew up in Bendigo then finally made the move to Melbourne with her partner David.

A good country girl she is interested in all things “outdoors”, including horse riding.  Not one to shy away from a challenge she recently participated as a member of our 2013 Relay For Life team, walking and running her way around Aberfeldie Oval at all hours of the day and night.

Edwina came to us after 3 years with OSSA Service –as a trade coordinator and prior to that looked after the Telstra Shop in Bendigo, giving her a great grounding in customer service.

“I was interested in working for the Strathmore Community Bank as I really think it is great how they give a lot to the community and not to mention the lovely bunch of people I work with” explains Edwina.

We are a relatively small team but we are committed to our employers and the task of providing excellent service to our many valued customers.  Our involvement in local functions and community projects is something we all take pride in.

Nella Crosara – Nella joined our team as a customer service officer choosing to work part time to leave her time to fulfil her passion working as a volunteer with children and she is looking forward to becoming involved in the community work that is an integral part of Strathmore Community Branch.

Nella tells us she is very passionate about life in general and is very keen to contribute to her community.  She is family orientated and loves to cook, specialising in traditional Italian cuisine.  Looks as if we will be dining well and taste testing on occasions!!

Leanne Licastro
Since joining our team Leanne has settled in well and made herself known to many shareholders and customers.
Living in Ballarat for 20 years, Leanne and her husband Anthony decided it was time to move to Melbourne and join their two sons and their families. After working for Bendigo Bank in Wendouree for 13 years, Leanne wanted to continue to have great community engagement and eagerly joined the team at Strathmore Community Bank.
While living in Ballarat Leanne was Co-ordinator of the Ballarat Soup Bus and also on the board of On Track Foundation Inc. – owners and operators of the “Bus” where she volunteered for 5 years – 3.5 of those as Co-ordinator. Leanne organised over 200 volunteers, food deliveries and pickups, daily rosters of volunteers and occasionally doing some public speaking at venues to raise profile of the Bus and donations.
Leanne loves to create – and is a “quilt a holic”, she also love to cook. – cupcakes being her favourite. Perhaps we can arrange a few for a morning tea sample!
Leanne looks forward to her community involvement and to meeting as many shareholders as possible.
