Butterfly Ward Royal Children’s Hospital

With up to 650 admissions each year, the Butterfly ward at Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital cares for patients from other hospitals in Melbourne, country Victoria, southern New South Wales and Tasmania as well as the RCH Emergency Department.

Babies admitted to the Butterfly ward have a wide range of complex medical and surgical problems.  Some require the support of a ventilator for their breathing and many require specialised surgical procedures.

Strathmore Community Bank® Branch Bendigo Bank was pleased to donate one of these life saving machines to the ward ensuring that vital help was there when it was needed most.

Since 2010 we have sponsored five cots in this special ward helping to guarantee the best health outcomes for Victoria’s sickest babies and we are delighted to have sponsored the “Royal Children’s Hospital Neonatal Newsletter” since 2014.

This newsletter is incredibly important to the Neonatal Unit as it is a useful way for it to communicate with the families of past and present patients ensuring an ongoing connection with all interested parties.
